Japan finally found its winning touch in women's Olympic volleyball Wednesday with a 3-1 defeat of host Greece following straight-sets losses to Brazil and Italy in preliminary round Pool A.

Captain Tomoko Yoshihara and Ai Otomo each had a game-high 16 points while Miyuki Takahashi and Megumi Kurihara combined for another 29 points at Peace and Friendship Stadium to give Japan a 25-10, 20-25, 25-21, 25-22 win.

Japan next plays archrival South Korea on Friday.
