Japan-based high school student Samuel Wanjiru pulled away from fellow Kenyan James Mwangi with 1 kilometer remaining to win the men's Chiba International Cross Country Race on Sunday.
It was a clean podium sweep for the Kenyans with Wanjiru crossing the tape in 35 minutes, 4 seconds on the 12-km course at Showa-no-Mori in Chiba. Mwangi finished 12 seconds behind.
