A player from the Dominican Republic has tested positive for doping at the ongoing women's volleyball World Cup in Japan, the sports world governing body FIVB said Sunday.

Nurys Arias Done underwent tests after the Dominican Republic's matches against China on Nov. 3 and Brazil on Nov. 5 and a sample "A" showed the presence of the performance-enhancing substance methandienone.

The FIVB has decided to suspend the player for two years.
