Yutaka Take won a race atop top favorite Sunlight Follia at Nakayama Racecourse in Chiba Prefecture on Sunday, becoming the fastest jockey to reach his 2,200th Japan Racing Association (JRA) victory at 16 years and six months.

Take, who made his JRA debut in 1987, became only the second JRA jockey to reach the milestone after Yukio Okabe.

The 34-year-old Take won two more races on Sunday to improve the mark to 2,202.

Take, named the 2002 JRA Jockey of the Year with the most wins, highest winning percentage and most earnings during the year, has 171 major victories to his credit.
