NAGOYA – Nelsinho, current coach of Brazilian first-division side Sao Caetano, will replace Slovenian Zdenko Verdenik as new manager of Nagoya Grampus Eight after the first stage, officials of the J. League first-division club said Thursday.
Nelsinho, also known as Nelson Baptista Junior, took charge of Verdy Kawasaki (now Tokyo Verdy) in 1995 and 1996 and led it to the second-stage championship in 1995. The 53-year-old is scheduled to arrive in Japan in early August.
