Tuffy Rhodes continued his monster pace by hitting homers No. 21 and 22 to lead the Kintetsu Buffaloes to a 6-2 win over the Nippon Ham Fighters at Tokyo Dome on Tuesday night.
Rhodes blasted a three-run drive in the first inning and Naoyuki Omura added a solo shot for his second homer in as many games in the second. Rhodes added a solo dinger in the third for Kintetsu, which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Veteran Shinichi Kato (4-1) allowed two runs on six hits in seven innings for the win.

At Fukuoka Dome, Yoshitomo Tani hit a two-run homer off Shintaro Yoshitake (0-2) for the go-ahead run with two out in the seventh inning as the Orix triumphed over first-place Daiei to win its second straight game for the first time in a month.
Rui Makino (2-0), the fifth pitcher of the night, struck out two of the eight batters he faced to pick up the win in relief while Jun Hagiwara worked the ninth for his fourth save.

Daisuke Matsuzaka (7-1) struck out 11 with pitches clocking over 150 kph and went eight solid innings on three-hit ball to win his seventh decision of the season.
The Marines blew a one-out bases-loaded chance in the sixth. Cabrera hit his 13th drive off Brian Sikorski (2-3).

At Kurashiki, Okayama Pref., Hiroshi Yagi, batting cleanup the first time this season, went 4-for-5 with five RBIs and helped Kei Igawa match his league-high seventh win as front-running Hanshin pounded out 14 hits to beat Chunichi.
Yagi drove in the opening run of the game on a single to left in the first, had a run-scoring single in the third and highlighted the four-run eight with a two-run single.
Igawa (7-3) allowed three runs on nine hits in 6-1/3 innings to match teammate Trey Moore for the league high for wins.
Chunichi stranded 13 runners in the loss.

At Hiroshima Stadium, Kazuhiro Kiyohara’s go-ahead two-run homer with two out in the ninth inning lifted the visitors to a 2-1 victory over the Hiroshima, which dropped to its sixth straight loss.

At Yokohama Stadium, pinch hitter Hirofumi Ogawa hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to break a 5-5 tie in the eighth inning and Seiichi Uchikawa homered and went 4-for-5 with four RBIs as Yokohama erupted with a 12-hit attack to down Yakult.
