There are a few facts to consider before calling the U.S.-India nuclear deal a concern: India has never invaded another country in its 10,000-year history; India is committed to a "no first use" policy on nuclear weapons; and nuclear power is mandatory if one of the world's largest democracies is to maintain its economic growth.

Japan is quite capable of creating nuclear bombs in a few days, but it is still suspected by its neighbors of being potentially aggressive. Japan should worry more about the nuclear technology transfers from Pakistan to North Korea, which is a bigger issue than India's acquiring nuclear capability.

When it comes to the interests of a particular nation, double standards are usually applied, so there is no point in talking about double standards and calling it a "concern."
