Something needs to be done to alleviate risks to companies posed by the rising yen, trade minister Masayuki Naoshima said Thursday, stepping up administration rhetoric on the currency's appreciation.
"I'm concerned about the strong yen," Naoshima said in the Diet. "Japanese companies are facing significant currency risks in their business" compared with their Chinese and South Korean counterparts, he said, adding, "we need some kind of response."
