Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. has delivered its first parts for Boeing Co.'s wide-body 777 freighters that will enter service by the end of this year.

The company completed and shipped the first fuselage panels for the aircraft from its Nagoya factory, it said in a statement Tuesday.

Kawasaki Heavy is also building other parts, including those for the central fuselage and main landing gear wheel wells.

Kawasaki Heavy, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. and Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. are the main Japanese suppliers for Boeing and together make 21 percent of the parts for 777s. The companies are also developing and building components for Boeing's new 787 Dreamliner.
