A man armed with a knife held up a “bento” store in Bunkyo Ward, Tokyo, early Sunday and made off with some 170,000 yen, the second time in three days the store was robbed, police said.

According to investigators, the man pretended to be a customer as he entered the Origin Bento shop in the Sendagi district at around 1:35 a.m. He barged into the kitchen and threatened a part-time employee with a knife, demanding that she give him money.

He then took the cash from the register and fled, police said. The 56-year-old employee was not hurt. The store was robbed of some 200,000 yen early Friday, and police were treating the incidents as a serial robbery case. Security camera footage showed the two robbers had similar physical characteristics, investigative sources said.
