Princess Aiko attended a concert and took part in children's games at a student festival Sunday at Gakushuin, the school where she started kindergarten earlier this month.
Accompanied by her parents, Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, the 4-year-old princess listened, clapped and talked to her mother while a group of 50 second-year kindergarten students sang "Zo-san" ("Elephant") and other children's songs.
After the concert, Princess Aiko played at the school fair. She tried her hand at a fishing game in which small water-filled "yo-yo" balloons are plucked from a tank of water. She took home three balloons she fished out.
