J-Phone Co. ranked first in a user satisfaction survey, with 75 percent of current users either fully or moderately satisfied, a market research firm said Thursday.

KDDI Corp.'s au cell phone service came in second, earning a satisfaction rate of 67 percent, followed by KDDI's Tu-Ka service, which rated 63 percent, Macromill Inc. said.

Industry leader NTT DoCoMo Inc. came in last, at 60 percent.

These are among findings in Macromill's Internet-based survey of 1,032 cell phone users conducted in June.

J-Phone, which will change its brand to Vodafone in October, and KDDI have won high rates of approval largely because of their low fees, according to the survey.

The wide coverage of NTT DoCoMo services is a key reason for customer satisfaction.

Respondents said being able to watch TV programs and access to a system that could locate their children are among the new services they would like to see offered.
