Police arrested a man Sunday for allegedly attempting to murder his male cousin in Ibaraki Prefecture.
Edi Siswanto, a 30-year-old Indonesian who works for a farmer in the prefecture, is suspected of hitting Santiko, 30, on the head several times with a piece of concrete. Police said the incident occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday at a workers' dormitory on a farm in the town of Iwama.
Edi, who was arrested for alleged theft Friday, confessed to the incident and was issued a fresh arrest warrant, according to police. Police believe the incident stemmed from a disagreement between the two over remitting money to Indonesia.
