Japan Telecom Co. said Tuesday it will establish a new Web directory service Aug. 15 to allow J-Phone users to check sites prepared for NTT DoCoMo's i-mode service for a monthly charge of 100 yen.
The service, named i-watcher, will start with 150 i-mode Web sites, growing to 500 by the end of March, Japan Telecom said.
The directory service will be limited to Web pages whose providers agree to offer their services to users of J-Phone, the cellular unit of Japan Telecom.
The service will be provided on a directory portal site, which converts pages written with codes for i-mode to those for J-Sky, the counterpart service of the J-Phone group.
