The three top executives of International Digital Communications Inc., an international telecommunications carrier, have resigned following its takeover by Cable and Wireless PLC of Britain, IDC announced on Tuesday.

The three — President Taketo Furuhata, 69, Chairman Gentaro Tsuji, 78, and Vice President Toshio Horiuchi, 65 — left their posts as of Tuesday after a new management team was approved at a general shareholders' meeting, the carrier said.

Simon Cunningham, 39, chief executive at Cable & Wireless North East Asia Ltd., took over Furuhata's post, while Stephen Pettit, 48, executive director at C&W, became IDC's chairman.
