The Tsukiji Market in Tokyo's Chuo Ward will fully open to the public for the first time ever during a two-day event offering fish and produce at bargain prices. The event, to take place on Nov. 6 and 7 from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., will provide the public with a rare chance to enter the inner market, which is usually off-limits to those who are not licensed wholesalers, organizers said. The event is aimed at boosting consumption and encouraging people to cook more at home, they said. Visitors are urged to wear casual attire because large crowds are expected and the items on sale will be delivered fresh. Shipping services will be available on the premises.
