Industrial output plunged 5 percent in November from the previous month, a downward revision of 0.9 percentage point from the preliminary figure, the Ministry of International Trade and Industry said in a report released Wednesday.Production index for the nation's mines and factories, which uses 1990 as a base year of 100, came to a seasonally adjusted 97.8, down 4.1 percent from a year ago, according to the report. The downward revision was attributed to weak performances of medicines, condensers and transformers, all of which were not reflected in the preliminary report, a ministry official said.The shipments index dropped 5.9 percent to 99.1, compared to a 5.3 percent monthly drop in the preliminary report. The inventory index was up 1.4 percent to 112.3, unchanged from the preliminary report.
