Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Japan’s premier gaming trade fair, is back this year — and bigger than ever.

Held in Chiba’s Makuhari Messe convention center from Sept. 25 to 27, TGS’ exhibitors total 1,136 companies, of which 615 hail from overseas. Booths on the exhibition floor number 4,157, far exceeding last year’s total of 3,252. Walking into the exhibition hall, the scale is palpable.

After its return to TGS in 2024 following a five-year hiatus, PlayStation is back again with a futuristic booth showcasing 14 playable titles. The largest demo area is devoted to the star of Sony’s show: Ghost of Yotei, the standalone sequel to 2020’s samurai adventure epic Ghost of Tsushima.
