阪神高速道路は6日、大阪府泉大津市の泉大津パーキングエリア(PA)でカプセルホテルを17日に開業するのに先立ち、報道向けの内覧会を開いた。宿泊施設を備えた高速道路のPAやサービスエリアは既にあるが、カプセルホテルという形態は全国初という。

Hanshin Expressway held a media preview Aug. 6 before opening a capsule hotel Aug. 17 at Izumiotsu Parking Area (PA) in Izumiotsu, Osaka Prefecture. Although expressways already have parking areas and rest areas with accommodation facilities, it is the country's first capsule hotel-type accommodation.
An observation space on the 11th floor of a 12-story building was renovated to make the hotel. There are 112 rooms in total, 92 for men and 20 for women. The accommodation fee is from 3,996 yen per night. A short nap or shower is also possible. The use is limited to expressway users, with target customers being long-distance truck drivers and travelers who stop at nearby Kansai International Airport.
