国際宇宙ステーション滞在を終え地球に帰還した宇宙飛行士の金井宣茂さん（41）が6月4日、地球の重力に体を慣らすリハビリに 取り組むため、米航空宇宙局（NASA）の施設がある米ヒューストンに到着した。宇宙航空研究開発機構（JAXA）によると、順調なら 6月中旬に日本に帰国する。
ロシアのソユーズ宇宙船で6月3日に着陸した カザフスタンから向かっていた。
金井さんはステーションに昨年12月から 5カ月半滞在。宇宙で長期間、無重力の状態で過ごすと、筋力が低下し、バランス感覚も狂うため、リハビリをして回復させる。(KYODO)

Translation
Astronaut Norishige Kanai, 41, has returned to Earth after finishing his stay on the International Space Station (ISS).
To reaccustom his body to Earth's gravity, Kanai went to a NASA rehabilitation center in Houston on June 4. According to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), if all goes well, Kanai will return to Japan around mid-June.
Kanai made his way to Houston after the Russian Soyuz spacecraft touched down in Kazakhstan on June 3.
Kanai was onboard the ISS for 5½ months from December of last year. He is in rehabilitation because an extended period of time in space in a weightless state can cause muscle deterioration and a loss of balance.
