The Grand Hyatt Tokyo is hosting a series of luxurious French summer events dubbed Soiree Blanche Voyage at The French Kitchen for just eight nights — June 30, July 7, 15 and 28, and Aug. 4, 11, 18 and 25.

Soiree Blanche is a summer event that originated in the 1970s in Saint-Tropez, France. Guests — including celebrities — attended these summer gatherings dressed all in white.

The Grand Hyatt’s event will bring the glitz and glamor of the 1970s French Riviera to Tokyo with their all-white attire terrace party.

Free-flowing Champagne, themed beverages and grilled fare will be offered at ¥7,000 per person for the more casual standing plan, and at ¥12,000 per person for the regular plan. The regular plan includes welcome canapes, a sit-down dinner (appetizer, unlimited main dishes such as grilled shrimp, meat, vegetables, truffle fries and homemade ice cream) and free-flowing drinks. These drinks include Champagne, red, white and rose wine, spirits and soft drinks. All prices exclude tax and service charge.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved inside.

Hiroshima, Setouchi meets Italian cuisine

The InterContinental Yokohama Grand will host the Hiroshima and Setouchi fair at both Italian restaurant La Vela and Marine Blue lounge and bar from July 2 to Sept. 2.

The Hiroshima and Setouchi regions were chosen for this summer’s Nippon Bishoku Kiko (Japan gourmet Journey), a series of food fairs hosted by the hotel since 2013 that focus on the beauty of local dishes and ingredients from all over the country.

The Hiroshima and Setouchi fair offers authentic Italian cuisine using seafood from the Seto Inland Sea, as well as Hiroshima beef, cheese, fresh vegetables and fruits that are carefully selected by the hotel’s chef who visited the “Mediterranean of the Orient” himself.

The lunch buffet costs ¥3,600 on weekdays and ¥4,100 on weekends and holidays, while the dinner course is priced at ¥12,000. Various a la carte menus and special drinks such as Hiroshima’s Miyoshi wine or Hiroshima tangerine juice are also available.
