In celebration of its fifth anniversary, the Prince Park Tower Tokyo will hold a gala dining event from Aug. 23 to 29, inviting chefs from the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing.
The Diaoyutai State Guesthouse is a Chinese government complex built on an ancient scenic area with gardens and 800 years of history, and it has been welcoming foreign dignitaries since 1959. Along with the executive chef and other staff, dinnerware will be brought from the guesthouse to authentically re-create Diaoyutai’s dishes.
The dining event will be held at the hotel’s Chinese restaurant Yomeiden on the first basement floor. There are three lunch courses, at ¥10,000, ¥13,000 and ¥29,000, and three dinner courses, at ¥18,000, ¥29,000 and ¥45,000.

Bon buffet for family and friends
The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel’s restaurant Caramelo will be offering its Summer Family Buffet during the Bon holiday.
The three-day special from Aug. 13-15 allows guests to enjoy their summer break with friends and family while enjoying spectacular views of the hotel’s garden.
The buffet will include popular dishes from Caramelo as well as the chef’s seasonal offerings. Also, desserts are prepared in front of customers.
The family buffet idea means children will be able to experience how cotton candy and crepes are made, and children can request to see the kitchen.
The lunch buffet costs ¥4,200 for adults and ¥2,500 for children aged 4-12. The dinner buffet (¥5,800, ¥2,800) includes Caramelo’s popular roast beef, raised in Japan.

Travel around the world of beer
Hotel Century Southern Tower holds its annual World Beer Fair through Aug. 31 at its 20th-floor Tribeks restaurant.
Enjoy a fine selection of domestic and imported beers on tap and in the bottle, together with the restaurant’s French-inspired continental dishes and a fantastic view of the metropolis from 100 meters above ground.
The price per beer ranges from ¥800 to ¥950. Beers from Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, Mexico, South Africa, the U.K. and the U.S. represent the foreign offerings, which come in various types, such as pilsners, stouts, ales and lagers. Nonalcoholic beer is also available at ¥600. Prices do not include tax or service charges.
The fair is available for lunch (11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on weekdays, 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays) and dinner (5:30 p.m.-10 p.m.).
