The Grand Hyatt Tokyo will hold a Gourmet Journey gala dinner, bidding farewell to Executive Chef Josef Budde and celebrating his time at the hotel since its opening seven years ago.
Special menus for the day will be created by the hotel’s top chefs from its seven restaurants and an internationally recognized team of pa^tissiers.
The event welcomes one of the world’s premier wine experts, Jean-Marc Nolant from Park Hyatt Shanghai, who will offer hand-selected champagnes and wines from the world’s leading wineries.
The gala dinner will be held on July 23 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom on the third floor. The cost is ¥30,000 per person. A table for 10 can be reserved for ¥250,000. Dress code is black tie. Reservations must be made by July 20.

Taste the sweetness of Paris
The Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel in the Shibuya area of Tokyo will hold its annual three-day culinary event timed with the yearly visit of Laurent Jeannin, renowned chef patissier of Hotel Le Bristol Paris.
The hotel has been collaborating with Jeannin since 2002, during which time he has presented the latest Paris dessert trends to Tokyo through the hotel’s takeout sweets and restaurant menus.
For the July 12-14 fair, Masaaki Nagao, chef of the Cerulean’s French restaurant, Coucagno, will work with Jeannin to create full-course Provencal meals for lunch and dinner.
There are two lunch courses, priced at ¥6,500 and ¥10,000, available from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. A dinner course costs ¥15,000, available from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Wines selected to match the courses will be available at additional cost.

Get your kicks at Food & Bar 77
In celebration of its first anniversary on July 7, Food & Bar 77 in the Nishi-Azabu area of Tokyo will be holding a weeklong fair from July 7 to 13.
Food & Bar 77 is a casual counter bar with no table charge near the Roppongi Hills complex. The interior aims to re-create the feel of a bar found in a South American town. The bar plays all genres of music and takes customers’ requests.
During the weeklong fair, all drinks will be ¥500 and each day one lucky customer will win a bottle of Catuma, a sparkling herb wine that is rare in Japan.
Since the fair is being held during the World Cup, you can watch the matches while enjoying the bar’s original cocktails created to represent each of the final 16 teams. In addition, on July 8, 11 and 12, a glass of the original cocktail of the country that wins the day’s match will be offered for free to all guests.
