The Hilton Nagoya will open a multipurpose venue named One O Five on its top floor on April 23.

The space was designed by Yukio Hashimoto with the emphasis on modern simplicity.

The 384-sq.-meter space is accented by sweeping views, natural light and the latest equipment.

The panoramic view 105 meters above the ground can be enjoyed both day and night and is suitable as a ballroom, banquet hall or meeting space. In the evenings, the city lights illuminate the entire space with an enchanting glow, creating the perfect mood for any evening event.

The state-of-the-art audiovisual system, including a ceiling- mounted projection screen, LCD projectors, digital video recording and amplification, CAT cabling and LED floor lighting system have been designed to meet various customers’ needs.

There are two adjacent boardrooms that are soundproofed and feature walls that can be used as projector screens.

The fee for the banquet room starts from ¥400,000 for two hours.

Hawaiian flavors return to Okura

The Kahala Hawaiian Food Fair returns to Hotel Okura Tokyo between April 16 and 23 with the visit of The Kahala Hotel & Resort Executive Chef Wayne Hirabayashi.

Following positive feedback about last year’s fair, the event again brings to Tokyo the flavors of the exclusive Honolulu hotel, which joined the Okura Hotels & Resorts group last year.

Dishes, desserts and cocktails from two of The Kahala’s popular restaurants, Plumeria Beach House and Hoku’s, can be enjoyed at Okura Tokyo’s Terrace Restaurant. The Orchid Room’s lunch and dinner buffet will also take part in the fair on April 17 and 18.

Lunch courses at Terrace Restaurant are ¥2,625 and ¥4,200; dinner courses are ¥4,725 and ¥6,300. Buffets at Orchid Room cost ¥6,300 for lunch and ¥9,450 for dinner, per adult.

Nikko Nara’s timely ¥1,300 fair

Throughout 2010, a variety of events are being held in Nara Prefecture to commemorate the 1,300th anniversary of the prefecture’s ancient status as Japan’s capital. Main events start from April 24 at the principal venue of the series of events, the Heijo Palace site.

To celebrate the occasion, Hotel Nikko Nara is offering Bauser Rose champagne for ¥1,300 per glass at its five restaurants through May 31.

In addition, the Chinese restaurant Shuko will offer its popular prix fixe lunch course, which usually costs ¥1,750, at ¥1,300 from May 6 to 31 (first 10 customers per day, weekdays only). The course includes a starter, soup, two main dishes of your choice, fried rice and dessert. Lunch time is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Prices include tax and service charges.
