The ANA InterContinental Hotel Tokyo is celebrating the opening of its renovated executive floor with a “Club Upgrade Promotion” through March 31.
The hotel’s new Club InterContinental Floor, which opened Feb. 10, occupies the 28th to 35th floors and has 198 rooms, more than double the original number. In addition, the hotel opened the 600-sq.-meter Club InterContinental Lounge on the 35th floor, with commanding views of Tokyo’s landmarks.
Limited to 50 rooms per day, the promotion let guests try the new Club InterContinental Floor rooms at the same rate as Classic Floor (floors 7 to 21) rooms. Guests can also try all Club Floor guest benefits, including access to the exclusive Club Lounge, where they can enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktail services, complimentary use of the fitness room, high-speed Internet and a meeting room, and exclusive concierge service and extended checkout at 2 p.m.
With the plan, a double or twin room that usually costs around ¥56,000 is available from ¥26,000 (prices vary depending on the day).

Five-star Italian cuisine
Giuseppe Lavarra, executive chef of the five-star Hotel Palazzo Sasso on Italy’s famous Amalfi Coast, is visiting the InterContinental Yokohama Grand for the eighth “Pino Lavarra Food Fair,” being held from Feb. 25 to March 2.
Lavarra’s modern Italian cuisine, whose artistic and nature-inspired dishes attract celebrities and gourmets from all over the world, will be served at the Grand’s two restaurants. The fair, which has been held since 2001, has become one of the hotel’s most popular annual promotions.
At the French restaurant Azur, lunch courses (¥4,200 and ¥6,300), dinner courses (¥12,600 and ¥16,800) and a special wine dinner will be available. The Feb. 26 wine dinner, limited to 40 guests (¥15,000, including wine), starts from 6:30 p.m.
At the Italian Grill La Vela, there will be two dinner courses (¥6,300 and ¥8,400). Some menus by Lavarra will also appear at a special buffet lunch (¥2,940 and ¥3,360 on Saturday and Sunday).
Both restaurants will also offer a la carte selections.

Chef Antonino Cannavacciuolo of the Michelin-starred Villa Crespi restaurant in Italy’s Piedmont region will be taking over the Belle Vue restaurant’s kitchens at the Hotel New Otani in Tokyo from Feb. 25 through March 1.
During that time he’ll prepare a menu of modern and traditional northern Italian delicacies such as Brittany lobster with glazed vegetables and tomatoes in a vanilla sauce, and roast pigeon with foie gras and white-grape soup.
Prix-fixe lunches are ¥14,700 and dinners ¥21,000.
