The Rugby World Cup is in full swing and fans of the sport are likely to indulge in a drinking spree (or two) to celebrate (or commiserate) the match outcomes for their favorite teams.
To the joy of beer lovers, the Osaka Castle Craft Beer Holiday offers a great opportunity to drink up and also do a bit of sightseeing. The beer festival will have 21 brewpubs from around Japan set up booths at the plaza near Osaka-jo Koen Station from Oct. 11 to 14.
Over 100 kinds of craft beer will be on tap, such as stouts from Minoh Beer in Osaka Prefecture, a brewery with accolades from international beer competitions, and a coriander-containing brew from North Island Beer in Hokkaido.
In an effort to make the event plastic-free, every attendee will be asked to use a commemorative glass for all their beverages. The glass can be bought together with a set of seven vouchers for food and drink (¥3,600 at the door). (Yuki Yamauchi)
