Whether they are avatar-utilizing virtual singers, frantic Hatsune-Miku-style Vocaloid producers or genre-bending bands, 122 Japanese artists participating in the three-daylong YouTube Music Weekend (YMW) will showcase the nation’s music scene to the world.

The latest edition of the livestreamed event — taking place between Aug. 29 and 31 — will bring on artists representing the nation’s internet-centric and anime-adjacent art scenes. They will premier new performances, music videos or interviews among other content.

To Madoka Yuki, the artist relations manager at YouTube Japan, this event is also a chance for the community to come together.
