Tokyo area forced to cut intake from major water source by 10%
Due to fears of water shortages, the Kanto region including Tokyo will reduce intake from the Tone River system by 10 percent starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, the infrastructure ministry and local governments said.

Tepco testing new water decontamination system at Fukushima No. 1 plant
Full-fledged operation of the advanced liquid processing system (ALPS) will start in about four months after its performance is verified. Tepco said it plans to process 250 tons of irradiated water a day using the new multinuclide removal system, which has the capacity to dispose of up to 500 tons when fully operational.

Don't overlook water problems
The March 23 article "Billions may lack safe drinking water by 2025: U.N." mentions that new ways to provide clean water to citizens are being tested. Water users themselves, however, have very little or no knowledge about the problem.
