Mazda plans gas fuel efficiency boost to 50 km per liter by 2020 or later
Mazda Motor Corp. aims to enhance the average fuel efficiency of its cars to 45 to 50 km per liter in 2020 or later as part of its efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, according to Chairman Seita Kanai.

Several months ago we had most of the windows in our home replaced, even though the house is less than 2 years old. When we had it built we ordered standard double-glazed windows with aluminum frames and sashes, thinking it would be enough, but after the first winter we realized is wasn't, so we decided to buy windows that keep more heat inside during colder weather, while also reflecting more of the sun's rays when it's hot.

Sanctions-free Iran looks to Japan's carmakers for eco-friendly vehicles
Iranian Vice President Masoumeh Ebtekar said Thursday the country plans to provide subsidies for hybrid cars and electric vehicles to make environmentally friendly cars widely available, and urged Japanese carmakers to look at building plants there.

Green festival to push 'stylish' conservation
Recycling doesn't have to be unfashionable. In fact, the Tokai Eco Festa in Nagakute, Aichi, places emphasis on the theme of "eco-stye," a continuing trend where fashion combines with environmental awareness. Patrons can visit more than 130 booths that feature clothes, art and handmade items that are not only stylish, but are also made using environmentally friendly materials and processes.
