England was in far from vintage form as it put a dent in Japan’s World Cup hopes with a convincing victory over the Brave Blossoms in Nice on Sunday.
It wasn’t the prettiest game of rugby, with both teams impeding their own attacking ambition with handling errors and poor decision-making.
But as with its match against Argentina, England proved that it can dig out a win against a challenging opponent.
