The 28-year-old sidearm lefty was pitching this season for the Double-A Jackson Generals. This season he had a 1-1 record with no saves and a 5.29 ERA.

Nakaushiro turned pro with the Chiba Lotte Marines after being selected in the second round of NPB's 2011 amateur draft.

He pitched in a career-high 27 games with a 4.87 ERA as a rookie, and was released in 2015. He signed with the Diamondbacks on a minor league contract the following year. He has yet to pitch in the majors.
