Eagles set to sign former Phillies pitcher Hermann

The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles have reached a basic agreement with Frank Herrmann, who pitched this year with the Philadelphia Phillies, sources said Tuesday.

The signing of the 32-year-old right-hander is expected to be announced in the coming days.

Herrman, a reliever out of Harvard University, has a career 5-3 record with one save and a .4.72 ERA in 109 major league appearances. He went 1-2 in 14 games with an 8.40 ERA this season.
