Ayaka Takahashi and Misaki Matsutomo reached the women's doubles final of the Singapore Open on Saturday, followed by Keigo Sonoda and Takeshi Kamura in the men's competition.

Takahashi and Matsutomo, seeded first in Singapore, edged London Olympic champions Tian Qing and Zhao Yunlei of China 21-17, 20-22, 21-16 in an hour and 20 minutes.

Sonoda and Kamura faced less challenges in their semifinal from Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen of China, securing a 21-16, 21-17 win in 32 minutes.

Akane Yamaguchi went down 21-12, 22-20 against Thailand's world No. 2 Ratchanok Intanon in the women's singles semifinals.
