Gamba Osaka suffered a third defeat in the Asian Champions League group stage, going down 2-0 at home against Shanghai Shenhua in the fourth round of fixtures on Wednesday.

Gamba came into the game with two defeats and a draw and their struggle continued as they succumbed to second-half goals from Wu Lei and Lu Wenjun after allowing 22 shots to 10 of their own at Suita Stadium.

The result leaves Gamba at the bottom of Group G with two points. Shanghai is at the top with nine, Melbourne Victory trail with six and Suwon Bluewings are third with three.
