Two-time Olympic silver medalist Yuki Ota and three others were officially named to Japan's fencing team for this summer's Rio de Janeiro Olympics on Tuesday.

Ota, whose medals came in men's individual foil in the 2008 Beijing Games and team foil in London four years ago, officially qualified when the latest international rankings were published on Monday. It will be his fourth straight Olympic Games.

Joining him in Rio will be Kazuyasu Minobe in men's epee, Nozomi Sato in women's epee and Chika Aoki in women's saber. Sato competed previously in London, while Minobe and Aoki will be making their Olympic debuts in Rio.

Two more fencers, Kenta Tokunan in men's saber and Shiho Nishioka in women's foil, will each seek one of the final berths from Asia and Oceania next Monday and Tuesday in Wuxi, China.
