Newcomer Terrance Shannon has bolstered the Sendai 89ers' already formidable frontcourt, which features veteran stars Wendell White and Jamal Boykin.

Shannon made a solid impact in his 89ers debut on Saturday night, grabbing seven rebounds in 14-plus minutes and adding a steal and block for good measure. The Virginia Commonwealth University alum also had four points as Sendai whipped the visiting Yokohama B-Corsairs 84-61.

White, the bj-league's 2009-10 MVP, had 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists with a pair of blocks. Boykin finished with 20 points and 14 boards. Guard Fumiya Sato had 15 points.

The Eastern Conference-leading 89ers (13-4) held the B-Corsairs (9-8) to 2-for-18 shooting from 3-point range.

Carl Hall had 20 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for Yokohama. Jordan Henriquez-Roberts added 14 points and 17 rebounds.

Lakestars 108, Lightning 86

In Kusatsu, Shiga Prefecture, Julian Mavunga had a jaw-dropping 43-point performance, converting 18 of 22 shots from inside the arc, and hauled in 16 rebounds as the Lakestars pounded Hiroshima.

Teammate Jeff Parmer was also an unstoppable force on offense, making 9 of 10 shots in a 21-point night.

Yu Okada doled out eight assists for Shiga (10-5).

All told, the hosts made 73.2 percent of their shots (41 of 56) from 2-point range, with 35 assists accentuating the rout.

Adam Herman scored 23 points for the Lightning (1-14) and Shuji Takei poured in 20.

Shiga out-rebounded Hiroshima 58-28.

Hannaryz 82, Rizing 66

In Maizuru, Kyoto Prefecture, the Hannaryz held Fukuoka to 17 first-half points en route to a series-opening win.

Kevin Kotzur scored 23 points on 11-for-12 shooting for Kyoto (12-3). Takuya Komoda and Larry Owens added 18 and 16 points, respectively. Sunao Murakami had six assists.

Josh Peppers led the Rizing (6-11) with 16 points and Cohey Aoki had 10.

Phoenix 79, Evessa 73

In Osaka, reigning champion Hamamatsu Higashimikawa extended its winning streak to 10 games by outplaying the hosts.

Reggie Warren's double-double (27 points, 11 rebounds) and Terrance Woodbury's 25 points ignited the Phoenix (14-3). Kejuan Johnson came off the bench and scored 13 points in 13-plus minutes.

Shota Konno had 15 points for Osaka (10-7) and Lawrence Blackledge scored 14.

HeatDevils 91, Bambitious 87

In Kashihara, Nara Prefecture, swingman Tatsuhiko Toshino scored a career-high 41 points as Oita Ehime edged the Bambitious.

The 27-year-old Toshino, a native of Matsuyama, Ehime Prefecture, is averaging 15.6 points per game for the HeatDevils (3-12). His previous season-high point total was 24 on Oct. 25.

Toshino buried 10 of 17 3-pointers. He attempted 29 shots in the game, playing all 40 minutes. He also had a team-high six assists.

He's become a breakout start for the HeatDevils this season. Toshino averaged 3.1 ppg for the Shinshu Brave Warriors last season. As a pro, he's also been with the Chiba Jets (2011-12 season) and Gunma Crane Thunders (2012-14).

Daiki Terashita scored 21 points for Nara (4-13).

Firebonds 84, Broncos 64

In Aizu, Fukushima Prefecture, Atsushi Nogami led the Firebonds with 17 points and Le'Bryan Nash had a triple-double in a lopsided win over Saitama.

Nash, a rookie out of Oklahoma State, contributed 14 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Masaya Karimata also scored 14 points for Fukushima (10-5), which shot 63.6 percent from inside the arc.

Seth Tarver had 25 points for the Broncos (1-14).

Grouses 80, Albirex BB 59

In Joetsu, Niigata Prefecture, six Toyama players scored in double figures in a clinical victory over the Albirex.

Masashi Joho ignited the Grouses (11-4) with 15 points and 10 assists. Takeshi Mito and Drew Viney added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Sam Willard grabbed a team-high 13 rebounds.

Toyama handed out 28 assists against 12 turnovers. The visitors also converted 29 of 44 attempts (65.9 percent) from 2-point range.

Shuhei Komatsu scored 18 points for Niigata (11-6).

Susanoo Magic 96, Five Arrows 59

In Matsue, Shimane Prefecture, Scootie Randall's 31-point, nine-rebound, five-assist performance sparked the hosts' rout of Takamatsu.

Josh Davis added 15 points and 13 rebounds for Shimane (11-6) and Jun Abe also poured in 15 points.

For the Five Arrows (5-10), Masamune Tate finished with 13 points and Nino Johnson had 11.

Golden Kings 91, Samuraiz 59

In Hakusan, Ishikawa Prefecture, big man Evan Ravenel notched a double-double (22 points, 15 rebounds) and sharpshooter Shuhei Kitagawa sank 4 of 5 3s in a 19-point effort as Ryukyu trounced Kanazawa.

Draelon Burns scored 16 points for the Golden Kings (11-4).

Andrew Fitzgerald paced the Samuraiz (9-8) with 19 points and 10 boards and Yuji Ide finished with 13 points.

Crane Thunders 77, Wat's 75

In Hachinohe, Aomori Prefecture, Thomas Kennedy led Gunma with 28 points and 12 rebounds in a narrow victory over the hosts.

Kosuke Taneichi put 17 points on the board for the Crane Thunders (9-8). Patrick Sullivan supplied 14 points and 10 boards and Hirotaka Kondo contributed 11 points and five assists, while Masashi Obuchi dished out five assists and made four steals.

For Aomori (6-9), Daichi Shimoyama had 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Nile Murry chipped in with 15 points and Paul Williams had 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Big Bulls 83, Northern Happinets 78

In Ichinoseki, Iwate Prefecture, balanced scoring carried the hosts to a win over Tohoku rival Akita.

Alandise Harris had a team-high 20 points for the Big Bulls (10-7), who had five double-digit scorers. Shota Onodera added 14 points and Kaito Ishikawa scored 13.

Richard Roby was the high scorer for the Northern Happinets (10-5) with 19 points. Roby also snatched 12 rebounds. Ray Turner and Scott Morrison both had 14 points.

Brave Warriors 106, Cinq Reves 87

In Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, Xavier Gibson's 23-point effort and Mike Bell's 20 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and four blocks carried Shinshu past Tokyo.

The Brave Warriors (5-10) drained 11 of 22 3-pointers.

The Cinq Reves (1-16) trailed by 20 points entering the second half.

John Florveus had 33 points on 14-for-20 shooting and 12 rebounds for Tokyo and Marvin Williams Jr. added 20 points.
