Duramente, winner of this season’s Japanese Derby and Satsuki Sho titles, is expected to be rested for six months after tests revealed the three-year-old has chip fractures in both of his front legs, the Japan Racing Association said on Saturday.
Duramente will not be able to race again this year, meaning he will be denied the chance to complete the Japanese Triple Crown at the Kikka-sho on Oct. 25 and will also miss the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in France earlier the same month.
