Japan manager Vahid Halilhodzic has warned his team not to take Singapore lightly in Tuesday's World Cup qualifier — or face the prospect of being embarrassed like France at the weekend.

France was beaten 1-0 by Albania in a friendly on Saturday, a team the Euro 2016 hosts had never previously lost to.

On the eve of Japan's first qualifying match for Russia 2018, which also doubles as a qualifier for the 2019 Asian Cup, Halilhodzic described the Singapore game as "a trap" his team must not fall for the way Les Bleus did against the Albanians.
