Urawa Reds secured their place in the last eight of the Nabisco Cup on Wednesday after a 2-1 win away to Ventforet Kofu.

Daisuke Nasu put Reds in front after eight minutes at Yamanashi Chuo Bank Stadium before Cristiano leveled in the 53rd for the home side. But Tsukasa Umesaki sealed victory 16 minutes from time to secure Reds a top-two spot in Group B and a place in the quarterfinals.

Reds have 12 points, while Nagoya Grampus edged Kashiwa Reysol 1-0 thanks to Marcus Tulio Tanaka's 85th-minute goal to move Grampus onto 10 points alongside Kofu.

In Group A, Gamba Osaka went down 1-0 away to already eliminated Vegalta Sendai, Shingo Akamine scoring the decider in the 66th minute. Vissel Kobe coasted to a 3-0 win away to Kashima Antlers and Yohei Toyoda put Sagan Tosu on the way to a 2-0 win over Shimizu S-Pulse.
