The Shinshu Brave Warriors suffered a 16-point loss at home to open the weekend, yielding 101 points to the visiting Sendai 89ers.

Coach Ryuji Kawai's team regrouped in a big, bold way and pounded the 89ers on Sunday, winning 113-91.

Patrick Sanders' long-range shooting fueled the victory, the University of California-Irvine alum making 7 of 9 3-pointers en route to 21 points. He was 14-for-21 from beyond the arc over the weekend. As a team, Shinshu (31-19) sank 18 of 36 3-point shots.

Xavier Gibson added 17 points, 14 rebounds and four assists in Chikuma, Nagano Prefecture, and Shoji Nakanishi scored 15 points. Teammate Takato Saito had 12 points, Jeff Parmer chipped in with 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists and Shota Konno scored nine points.

Wendell White paced Sendai (24-26) with 23 points and 17 rebounds and Travele Jones had 21 points, 12 boards and four steals. Point guard Takehiko Shimura finished with nine points and 14 assists. Atsushi Nogami added 14 points and Fumiya Sato poured in 11.

The 89ers struggled at the free-throw line, converting 24 of 38 attempts.

Five Arrows 62, Golden Kings 59

In Takamatsu, Dexter Lyons scored 15 points, Sean Smith had 13 and the Five Arrows outscored Ryukyu 21-4 in the fourth quarter for the win to salvage a series split.

Andrais Thornton added nine points and 11 rebounds for Takamatsu (21-29), while Paul Williams, Hiroyuki Kikuchi and Makoto Kita each had seven points apiece.

Draelon Burns paced the Golden Kings (41-9) with 13 points and Ryuichi Kishimoto scored 10.

Ryukyu shot 11-for-43 from 2-point range.

Susanoo Magic 74, Lakestars 71

In Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, balanced scoring carried Shimane to its second victory in as many days over Shiga.

Adrian Thomas had 15 points and nine rebounds, Shawn Malloy had a 14-point afternoon and Kazuya "J." Hatano and T.J Cummings scored 13 points apiece for the Magic (11-39). Edward Yamamoto added 11 points and seven assists.

For Shiga (25-25), Brandon Fields was the high scorer with 20 points, Marshall Brown poured in 15 and Shelton Colwell and Yutaka Yokoe both had nine. Jumpei Nakama contributed seven points and two steals.

Evessa 72, Rizing 66

In Osaka, D'Andre Bell scored a team-best 17 points and the hosts improved their playoff prospects by bouncing back against Fukuoka in the series finale.

Bell added five rebounds, five assist and three steals for the Evessa (22-28). Naoto Nakamura scored 11 points, knocking down three 3s. Darko Cohadarevic added 10 points, Kevin Galloway provided nine points and five assists and Zach Andrews scored eight points.

Seth Tarver led the Rizing (26-24) with 13 points and Reggie Warren scored nine. Keisuke Takabatake had eight points.

Fukuoka committed 21 turnovers in the loss.

Rizing coach James Duncan was disappointed with his team's performance on Sunday.

Ducan called it a "rough weekend series."

"We practiced turn-over-the-ball weekend," Duncan told The Japan Times. "We cannot have consistent success if we do not take care of the ball. It's unfortunate because the effort my guys gave was extremely satisfying. However, our mistakes led to the outcome we got Sunday afternoon.

"Two games left to see what playoff position we will have. Again, it's important we are healthy and playing the right basketball as we head into the playoffs."

Big Bulls 80, Crane Thunders 77

In Isesaki, Gunma Prefecture, Scootie Randall's 18 points and 11 rebounds and Josh Peppers' 17-point game powered Iwate to its 10th straight win.

Masato Tsukino scored 13 points and Lawrence Blackledge filled the stat sheet with 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. Gyno Pomare added seven points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Big Bulls (38-12). Kenichi Takahashi had nine points and Tsubasa Yonamine finished with six points and four assists.

Carlos Dixon led the Crane Thunders (13-37) with 25 points. Dillion Sneed supplied 21 points and 13 boards for the hosts and Shingo Okada and Jermaine Green each had seven points.

Wat's 88, Broncos 76

In Saitama, Gordon Klaiber torched his former team, burying six 3-pointers in an electrifying 34-point performance as playoff-bound Aomori completed a series sweep.

Swingman Makoto Sawaguchi had 14 points and five assists for the Wat's (26-24) and Abdullahi Kuso made his presence felt from start to finish with 11 points, nine rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks. Stanley Ocitti had nine points and two blocks and Anthony Kent chipped in with nine points, nine rebounds and four assists for the first-year franchise.

Michael Joiner scored 19 points for the Broncos (5-45) and Junya Masumoto had 18.

Bambitious 75, Phoenix 71

In Toyohashi, Aichi Prefecture, Anthony Brown scored a team-high 18 points and Adrian Moss contributed 15 points and eight rebounds as Nara completed its inaugural season with a bounce-back victory over Hamamatsu Higashimikawa.

The Bambitious went 19-33 under first-year coach Koto Toyama.

Joe Chapman scored 14 points and Jamar Abrams had 11 for Nara. Rookie guard Tatsuya Suzuki had a solid outing, too, with nine points, six assists and two steals.

Cyrus Tate scored 16 points, Atsuya Ota added 15 with eight rebounds and Jermaine Dixon pumped in 12 points for the Phoenix (27-23). Ray Nixon had 10 points and 17 rebounds.

B-Corsairs 96, Cinq Reves 88

In Machida, Tokyo Prefecture, Marcus Simmons and Wayne Marshall combined for 49 points as the defending champions topped the hosts.

Simmons had 28 points, eight rebounds and four steals and Marshall provided 21 points and three blocks for Yokohama (24-26). Omar Reed ended the afternoon with 17 points and eight boards and Masayuki Kabaya had 15 points and six assists.

Ricky Woods scored 44 points on 16-for-29 shooting for Tokyo (13-37). He was 11-for-11 at the foul line.

Yuji Ide added 25 points and six assists for the Cinq Reves, while Anthony Stover had seven points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks.
