Esther Lee won her first title after eight years on the Japan LPGA Tour with a one-stroke victory over O. Sattaya at the Studio Alice Ladies Open on Sunday.

Lee started the final round two shots off the pace in second, but finished with a tournament record 9-under 207 at Hanayashiki Golf Club.

The South Korean, who picked up a winner's check of ¥10.8 million, had four birdies against two bogeys for a 70 while overnight leader Sattaya of Thailand slipped up with a 73.

"I've been working hard in the eight years since coming to Japan and I've finally reached the top," Lee said. "Nothing's coming to mind right now. I just want to thank everyone who stood by me all this time."

Nineteen-year-old Hikari Fujita, in third place after two rounds, ended up fifth after a 73, five shots behind Lee.
