Urawa Reds on Sunday announced the acquisition of Japan reserve goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa from J. League champions Sanfrecce Hiroshima.
The 27-year-old Nishikawa helped Sanfrecce retain their championship on the final day of this season, playing in all but one of their 34 league games.
"I want to make an effort to win everyone over as soon as I can and focus on delivering results," Nishikawa said in a club statement.
Nishikawa becomes the latest Sanfrecce player to be reunited with former manager Mihailo Petrovic, who was in charge at Hiroshima from 2006 to 2011 and since taking over at Reds has been reunited with Tomoaki Makino, Yosuke Kashiwagi and Ryota Moriwaki.
Nishikawa started his J. League career with Oita Trinita in 2005 and joined Hiroshima from the 2010 campaign. He has made 253 first-division appearances and has been capped by Japan 12 times.
