South Korea's Lee Bo-mee defeated Mamiko Higa in a playoff to win her first title of the season at the rain-shortened Japan LPGA Championship on Sunday.

Lee and Higa shared the overnight lead at 11-under 205 and were forced into a playoff to determine the winner after the final round of the four-day major at Eniwa Country Club was canceled due to inclement weather.

Lee sealed victory on the sixth playoff hole, wrecking the 19-year-old Higa's bid to become the youngest winner of a major tournament on the JLPGA tour in the process.

"I was so nervous," said Lee. "I was just thinking I have to be focused on each and every shot. It's been a while since I won and I am so happy. There are more big tournaments coming up and I want to aim for the money title."

It was Lee's fourth win in Japan and second at a major after the 25-year-old won the season-ending JLPGA Tour Championship last year.

Her other JLPGA victories came at the Yokohama Tire PRGR Ladies Cup and the Itoen Ladies also in 2012, when she finished second on the money list behind compatriot Jeon Mi-jeong.
