NIIGATA (Kyodo) Former Japan international striker Atsushi Yanagisawa scored twice as Kyoto Sanga pulled off a stunning 4-1 win at Albirex Yamagata to go top of Group A in the Nabisco Cup on Wednesday.

The result moved Kyoto to eight points from four games, one clear of FC Tokyo, who suffered their first loss after going down 1-0 at Vegalta Sendai.

In Group B, goals from Kota Ueda and Ryoichi Maeda gave Jubilo Iwata a 2-1 win at Shonan Bellmare and moved them top of the table on seven points.

Iwata lead the table on goal difference ahead of Montedio Yamagata, who won 2-0 at previously unbeaten Urawa Reds courtesy of a Yuzo Tashiro brace.

Ken Tokura was on target to help Vissel Kobe beat Shimizu S-Pulse 3-1 and sentenced the J. League leaders to their first loss of the campaign.
