SAITAMA (Kyodo) Holders FC Tokyo survived the dismissal of Kenta Mukuhara to beat Omiya Ardija 1-0 away and pick up their first win in the group stage of the Nabisco Cup on Wednesday.

The result put Tokyo top of Group A while Albirex Niigata also improved to four points from two games edging Cerezo Osaka 1-0 away. Vegalta Sendai against Kyoto Sanga finished 1-1.

In Group B, Naohiro Takahara was on target as Urawa Reds went top with a 3-1 win at Vissel Kobe, while goals from Tomoyuki Arata and Park Joo Hoo gave Jubilo Iwata a 2-1 win at home to Yokohama F. Marinos. Montedio Yamagata and Shimizu S-Pulse played out a 0-0 draw.
