Rennes midfielder Junichi Inamoto hinted Friday he will return to the J. League after an eight-year stint in Europe.

"I'm leaning toward a move back to Japan," Inamoto said upon his temporary return from France, where he has not seen much playing time in the first season of his two-year deal with the Ligue 1 side.

"I know what I want to do," the 30-year-old said.

The Japan international has received offers from Kawasaki Frontale and Omiya Ardija.

Inamoto has played in Europe since joining Premier League club Arsenal from Gamba Osaka in 2001.

He also had spells with Fulham, Cardiff City, West Bromwich Albion, Turkey's Galatasaray and Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt.
