NAGOYA (Kyodo) Nagoya Grampus said Monday they have signed former Japan winger Alessandro Santos from Urawa Reds.

Santos, who has a career 67 goals in 298 matches in the J. League first division, has seen limited action this season under Urawa manager Volker Finke, who is giving younger players a chance.

Nagoya has reached the quarterfinals of the Asian Champions League and is hoping to advance further with the help of the experienced 32-year-old Brazilian-born player.

Santos had a disappointing spell at Austrian side Salzburg in 2007 before rejoining Urawa the following year. He played for Japan at the 2002 and 2006 World Cups.
