MOSCOW (Kyodo) Beijing Olympic silver medalist Maki Tsukada won the women’s over 78-kg final as Japanese judoka claimed three more gold medals on the final day of the Grand Slam Moscow meet Sunday.
Tsukada overpowered Tunisia’s Nihel Chikhrouhou and Yoriko Kunihara beat Edith Bosh of the Netherlands to capture the gold in the women’s 70-kg final.
Japanese women claimed five gold medals out of a possible seven after victories Saturday for Misato Nakamura (52 kg), Tomoko Fukumi (48 kg) and Kaori Matsumoto (57 kg).
In Sunday’s men’s action, Takashi Ono scored an “ippon” win over Andrei Kazusionak of Belarus in the 90-kg final.
