INAWASHIRO, Fukushima Pref. (Kyodo) Aiko Uemura claimed her second title in as many days, winning the women's dual moguls event at the freestyle world championships on Sunday.

Uemura, who became the first Japanese freestyle skier to win a world title with her victory in the women's moguls the previous day, displayed technical precision to qualify in first en route to winning her second gold of the competition.

"I am really surprised to win two titles," Uemura said. "It was hard to focus today but the other Japanese skiers also worked hard and I wanted to get on the podium together."

The 29-year-old Uemura led Japan in a 1-2 victory with 21-year-old Miki Ito, who lost to her in the final. Hannah Kearney of the United States was third. Ito also booked her spot in next year's Vancouver Winter Olympics.
