Japanese striker Masashi Oguro will not be offered a contract extension by Serie A club Torino, its president, Urbano Cairo, said Sunday.

"I believe his stay at Torino is over," Cairo said of Oguro, who has not scored a goal in two seasons with Torino after joining in fall 2006 from French second-division club Grenoble.

"Unfortunately, there was not much room for him at our club," Cairo said.

Injuries forced Oguro to play only three games in the 2007-08 season and he was not even on the bench in the season finale.

Oguro, who played a super sub role for Japan in the 2006 World Cup in Germany, has not received any offers, including from clubs in Japan.
